Mercy Chepkorir brings over 15 years of experience in community development and women's rights advocacy to her role as Executive Director of Smile Again Mountain. Her passion for empowering adolescent girls and teenage mothers stems from her own experiences growing up in Trans-Nzoia County.
Under her leadership, SAM has developed innovative programs that address the root causes of vulnerability while building resilience and self-sufficiency among our beneficiaries. Mercy holds a Master's degree in Gender and Development Studies and has previously worked with several international NGOs focused on women's empowerment.
Her vision is to create sustainable pathways out of poverty and vulnerability for adolescent girls and teenage mothers, enabling them to live with dignity and independence.
A passionate Gender Development and SRHR champion with a Master's in Gender Development Studies. She leads initiatives combating gender-based violence and empowering adolescent girls and young mothers through advocacy, mentorship, and community-centered programming.
